Role Description and Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator will report to the Consortium Coordinator/Manager. They will play an important role by taking responsibility for field project implementation, overseeing field team and sub-office operations, organizing and managing data and information from the project team, and consolidating reports and inputs as per Donor guidelines and policies while ensuring program quality. Under the guidance and supervision of the Consortium Coordinator/Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Oversee field office operations, supervise mobilizers, and resolve operational challenges, with a certain degree of autonomy in managing issues related to the daily implementation of the activities.
- Visit the field daily for monitoring of assessments/selection of beneficiaries.
- Ensure selection criteria for beneficiary selection are met, avoiding biases and any affiliation.
- Ensure project objectives are being met from beneficiary selection to final distributions of food/materials.
- Report any issues, including implementation challenges, to senior management.
- Oversee field office operations, manage field team and technical consultants/experts, and resolve operational challenges, with a certain degree of autonomy in managing daily implementation of the activities.
- Coordinate and oversee the Inclusive Hazard Vulnerability Assessment (IHVA) in target areas in coordination with the technical expert.
- Oversee and assign field staff relevant responsibilities, including field visits for project activities, community mobilization, activity implementation, data management, and project monitoring.
- Develop monthly, interim, and final narrative reports as per the standard reporting template and submit weekly progress updates to Senior Management on the Daily Implementation Plan (DIP).
- Report any issues, including implementation challenges, to Senior Management regularly.
- Assist Senior Management in the decision-making process regarding activity design and implementation of activities based on managing experience from current and past projects.
- Based on a constant evaluation of the daily activities, suggest to Senior Management modifications and improvements to implementation methodology, staff composition, assets, equipment, etc.
- Conduct regular field visits, at least 50% of the time, to oversee and monitor field operations.
- Implement any other job-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Education, Knowledge, and Skills Required:
Master’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or any other relevant field of study.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant project experience in a similar position in NGOs/INGOs/UN Agencies.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask, work under pressure, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills to build solid relationships with staff, partners, government officials, donors, and other relevant stakeholders.
Creative and flexible with problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy.
Able to confidently present oneself to high-level officials.
Confident and proficient in using MS Office.
Proficiency in local languages (including Dari, Pashto) and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
Understanding of the complete project cycle and implementation is desired.
